This memorial and library honors the 25th President of the United States, William McKinley, who
was born and raised in Niles, Ohio. It’s a classic example of Greek
architecture and was built with Georgian marble and has two lateral wings. A
statue of the former President graces the “Court of Honor” and the museum
contains artifacts of McKinley’s life and presidency. He was the only
President who entered the Civil War as an enlisted man and the last Civil War
veteran to become President. Group tours of the site are available by advance
request. Check the website for hours of operation and a schedule of events.
