Center Brook Manor, once the residence of renowned abolitionists Charles and Julia Brown, holds significant historical value as a documented stop on the Underground Railroad. The Browns were also active members of the Disciples of Christ Church, and in 1849, the North Bloomfield Assembly of God Church was constructed on their property as a place of worship for the Disciples of Christ congregation, with Charles serving as an elder.

Presently, Center Brook Manor is under the ownership of Roger and Heather Peterson, who aim to transform it into a captivating Living History Site. Restoration efforts are currently underway to revive Center Brook Manor to its original splendor from the 1840s.
