Event Details

Participants will harvest their own grass stalks from the wild stand of grass on the property. Then using a primitive loom, participants will create their own grass mat. By using the primitive loom participants will learn to make the loom, string the loom, and weave a mat which is theirs to take home. A grass mat can be used for a yoga mat, a sunshade, a beach mat, or a base layer mat for primitive camping.

(Wild grassy areas are the home for mosquitoes, spiders, ticks, and chiggers during the warmer months so it is recommended to bring or wear clothing such as long sleeve shirts, pants, socks, cotton gloves while gathering materials.)
