Join us for a family fun
event that offers one of the largest raffle-auctions in the area and includes
princess character performances, live music, Cow Patty Bingo, food trucks,
sweet treats and archery contests  – all while supporting a local
breast cancer survivor in her fight against the financial battle of the
disease. 

 

Admission and parking
are free. 

This not-to-miss event is
a fundraiser to help breast cancer survivor Joyce Hurst of West Farmington
Township, who was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in November.  

Joyce, a mother of two
daughters and grandmother of five, is a medical biller for Steward Medical
Group. She faces thousands of dollars in medical bills because Trumbull
Memorial Hospital (which Steward owns) doesn’t provide cancer services, so all
of her chemotherapy treatments, oncologist appointments and white blood cell
count booster shots are only partially covered by her health insurance or not
covered at all.

 

Here is a breakdown of
the main activities that will be held during this year’s War Against Breast
Cancer Raffle-Auction on Sept. 28:

 

RAFFLE-AUCTION  

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. 

Drawing begins at
4:15 p.m. Winners do not need to be present. 

More than 200 items will
be up for bid, including a six-hour guided walleye fishing experience on Lake
Erie with DNA Sport Fishing; flat-screen TV; 30 Days of Dining with 30
restaurant gift cards to popular restaurants; tickets to concerts, comedy
shows, family fun parks and sporting events; hunting gear; toys for all ages
and more.

Tickets are 2 for $1 for
general auction items; $1 each for items valued at $100 or more; and $5 for
items valued at $300 or more.

  

COW PATTY BINGO 

Starts at 1:30 p.m.

Come see which numbered
square our four-legged friend leaves a gift to select the winner of $500 and a
special Texas Roadhouse Butcher’s Basket with eight steaks steak seasoning and
steak sauce (a $150 value!).  

Only 200 tickets will be
sold. $10 each.

ARCHERY CONTEST 

11:30 a.m. – noon

$5 a ticket

Anyone who hits a
bullseye within the 30-minute time frame wins free steak for a YEAR from Texas
Roadhouse – Niles. There is no limit on the number of attempts or how many
people can win.

You still will receive a coupon for a free Texas Roadhouse appetizer if you miss. 

The archery trailer is
free to try at all times outside the contest time.  

 

ENTERTAINMENT  

Jordan Smith of
Southington Township will bring her guitar to perform country and all your
feel-good favorites from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

 

Come meet, dance, sing
and play with the princess and superhero characters from Castle on A Cloud
Entertainment from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

Musician Caleb Gaul will
be performing acoustic versions of a wide variety of music including pop,
country, rock, folk and oldies from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
