Who has the best hamburger in Trumbull County? Well, that’s up for debate. The problem is, there are just too many amazing burgers to choose from!
While this list may not be exhaustive, here’s a sampling of Trumbull County residents’ favorite burgers. If you’re thinking of trying them out, come hungry – these burgers are big and flavorful and as adventurous as the local chefs who make them!
Woodland Cellars & “Too” Hot Mamas, Hubbard
What goes better with wine and atmosphere than a good burger? Woodland Cellars winery’s “Too” Hot Momas menu has plenty of unique burgers, including ones with toppings like bacon jam, seasonal pepper jam, tortilla strips, and balsamic glaze. These burgers have lots of flavorful twists you won’t want to miss and come highly recommended from residents of Trumbull County!
CROWD FAVORITE: The Hot Mama Burger, a 12 oz. burger with pickled peppers, cheddar cheese and hot pepper mustard.
Sunrise Inn of Warren
Get ready to rock with Sunrise Inn of Warren’s musical burgers. Don’t worry, the burgers don’t actually sing – well, they might sing to your stomach! Every year, Sunrise rolls out a new lineup of burgers that coincide with the summer’s River Rock at the Amp series. Get a spicy Hells Bells Burger, a cheesy, crispy fried onion, chipotle Funkytown Burger, or have your burger Any Way You Want It. Then, pop down to the Warren Amphitheater Saturday evenings June through August to jam to the music that inspires the tastes! You can also catch some classic burgers on Sunrise’s regular menu, along with the ever-popular Pizza Burger Splash!

Big D’s Newton Grill, Newton Falls
Big D’s boasts bold flavor and doesn’t disappoint. The menu features an adventurous assortment of burgers – and they have plenty of burger-themed merchandise, too. You probably didn’t know you needed hamburger-themed art, but I assure you, you do. Plus, Tuesday is burger night: buy one, get one half off when you dine in. Look for creative burgers that include Philly Steak, banana peppers, and even peanut butter and jelly. You won’t be disappointed.

Urban Tap, Warren
Urban Tap is one of Warren’s newer restaurants, but it’s quickly caught on as favorite spot for burgers with bold flavor. Even folks from out of town love Urban Tap and keep coming back to try new burgers – or get that old favorite again. Which are the favorites, you ask? Well, you can’t go wrong with a Pimento Burger or the Smokehouse Smash, but most will tell you the reigning king is the Urban Bourbon Burger.
CROWD FAVORITE: Urban Bourbon Burger, two fresh beef patties, smashed and topped with bourbon bacon jam, smoked gouda, tomato, caramelized onion, and roasted red pepper aioli and served on a toasted brioche bun.
Iron Mann Grille, Girard
There’s nothing like cold beers, entertainment, and good hamburgers – and that’s what you’ll find at Iron Mann Grille. Come for the award-winning Jerk Burger and stay for the live music, trivia, and Girard’s favorite patio.
CROWD FAVORITE: Jerk Burger, two quarter-pound patties slathered in a blend of Caribbean spices, smashed and topped with fresh grilled pineapple, Swiss cheese and coconut mayo.
DiSilvio’s Family Grill, Hubbard
Are you looking for the cheesiest burger? Well, it’s on the menu at DiSilivio’s! This local, family-run restaurant runs the gamut when it comes to burgers – and they’re all delicious! Some menu highlights: Nashville Hot Pickle Burger, Chili Burger, Jalapeno Popper Burger, Philly Burger, and of course, the classic Bacon Cheeseburger.

Monty’s by the Lake, Cortland
Just minutes from Mosquito Lake, Monty’s is a favorite haunt for the folks in northern Trumbull County. It’s a family diner with all your American favorites – and nothing says American like a good hamburger. Anyone who has been to Monty’s will tell you best way to do a burger is the Big Monty or it’s spicy-sweet sibling, the Sweet Heat Big Monty.

University at Larchmont, Warren
This neighborhood bar knows how to do burgers right. They stack ‘em tall, and slather them in cheese and anything else you’d like. And, they’re best served with UAL’s crispy onion rings. Locals will tell you they’ve been enjoying these burgers and other classic bar food for over 35 years.

Raptis Family Restaurant, Howland
Craving hearty, homemade food but don’t want to cook it yourself? Howland residents know that’s when you go to Raptis, a favorite family restaurant with more than three decades of good cooking under its belt. Well, under all of our belts, if we’re being honest! While Raptis has its roots in Greek cuisine, it has you covered for breakfast, lunch, or dinner – with plenty of half-pound burgers on the menu!

Ohio Inn, Warren
This longtime favorite bar and restaurant in Warren is known for having the best fish in town – but the locals know that the burgers are pretty darn good, too! This lively bar and restaurant in Howland is the place to be for live music, summer patios, fun drinks – and, of course, absolutely ginormous hamburgers! From classic to spicy to sweet, these handcrafted burgers do not disappoint. Look for the Inferno Burger, “Shroom” Burger, or Burley Man Burger. And make sure to get some thick-cut fries while you’re at it!
