When you’re looking for the best dog parks in Trumbull County, you don’t want some HUMAN’s opinion right? You want the educated reviews of a dog! Kermit is here to do just that for you.
Cooperation Station Dog Park
Me and my human started the day off at a SUPER cool place called Cooperation Station Dog Park in Cortland! This park is an expansive and fully-fenced 5-acre wooded park at Mosquito Lake State Park with designated areas for small and large dogs. (I’m right in the middle, so I got to play in both parts!) We were surrounded by nice shade trees and my human loved that the park provided free waste bags and didn’t require a membership. The BEST part of the whole park was the dog beach!! One part of the park has lake access where I was allowed to swim and drink water. I’ve never had my own beach before! My human says the park also hosts Sunday puppy play days for socialization.
The park was so great we decided to stick around and explore Mosquito Lake State Park after! Right in the heart of Ohio, this beautiful park is dog friendly and has a wide range of outdoor activities for nature enthusiasts and dog enthusiasts alike. We hiked along some picturesque trails next to the serene lake and I saw exactly 10 ducks and 14 squirrels. It was AWESOME.
Hubbard’s Scentral Park
The next dog park my human and I visited was Hubbard Scentral Park, which is the Valley’s newest dog park and it didn’t disappoint! Water and toys are provided by Hubbard Pet Resort, ensuring a fun-filled experience for all of my furry friends. They also had separate areas for large and small dogs so that dogs of all sizes could socialize and play to their heart’s content.
For dogs to play here, their humans have to pay a membership fee; but options like a 50% off annual membership special and a $5 day pass are a steal, providing unlimited access seven days a week from dawn to dusk.
The Bark Park
As if those weren’t fun enough, we next visited the Bark Park at the Animal Welfare League in Vienna! This HUGE dog haven is open seven days a week, and I got to meet so many nice dogs and humans.
With an annual membership, priced at $120 with renewals, dogs like myself not only get to enjoy the beautiful country setting and meet friends, but their humans also directly contribute to supporting shelter pets in the AWL Adoption Center. It’s a win-win! My human says AWL owns a thrift store called The Menagerie too!
Neiss Recreation Park for Dogs
Our final doggy destination for the day was Neiss Recreation Park for Dogs in Newton Falls! This is an excellent off-leash, fenced-in dog park that sits right next to the Newton Falls water tower.
With a membership-based system, it provides a safe and spacious environment for dogs (and their humans) to socialize and play! We even got to drive by the Newton Falls covered bridge on our way there.
An Evening at the Drive-In
After a long day playing hard at all of the great dog parks in Trumbull County, my human decided we would end the day with a movie together! There are two great drive-in theaters here that BOTH let people bring their doggy companions with them for a furry film viewing. Skyway Drive-In in Warren is a nostalgic twin-screen drive-in movie theater that showcases the best of outdoor cinema. Elm Road Triple Drive-In Theatre is a 73-year-old family-owned and continuously operated outdoor cinema also located in Warren. There are snacks, drinks, play-areas, lots of movies to view, and DOGS! What could be better?
