Trumbull County has always been a great place for great food – especially Italian, Polish, and Greek food. In recent years more local coffee shops have sprung up, making it a fantastic place to grab a coffee or tea, too. I love coffee shops and look for them wherever I go. Now that there are so many in Trumbull County, I decided to visit ten of them in two days. For research purposes, of course. And, since research is best done with a team, I brought my friend, Sam, along for the first day.
Day One
1.
Eclectic Coffee
204 West Main Street, Cortland

To start, we headed south on Route 5 to downtown Cortland. Eclectic Coffee is a walk-in shop that reminds me of one you’d find in a larger city like New York or Chicago, except it has the benefit of Cortland’s small-town charm. It’s a great place to easily pop in and out and has a full coffee and tea menu that would satisfy the most adventurous beverage drinker.
You’ll love the dark, cozy aesthetic, the connection to community, and the AMAZING tea lattes.
2.
Cadence Coffeehouse and Creperie
31 North Main Street, Niles

A straight shot south on State Route 46 brought us to Niles for our third coffee shop of Day One.
Cadence Coffeehouse is more than just a coffee shop. Established by Cadence Care Network, the coffee shop provides vulnerable youth with job training and life skills – and provides the locals with coffee, pastries, and sandwiches.
The coffee shop has a light, uplifting atmosphere and an extensive drink menu that even includes Italian soda. Menu offerings include wraps, croissants, and veggie trays, but the café is most well known for its crepes.
I got a chai latte that was subtle and sweet and Sam and I split a cinnamon toast crunch crepe that tasted just like the cereal.
If we had not been on a mission to hit our five-shop quota before lunch with my mother, we would have stopped in at the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial across the street from Cadence Coffeehouse. But, as we were only halfway through our list, we had to admire the stately memorial, library, and museum from the sidewalk.
3.
The Daily Grind
824 North State Street, Girard

Up next: The Daily Grind. This coffee shop in Girard has cozy casual vibes and a full coffee and tea menu. They also offer breakfast skillets, toast, wraps, and sandwiches.
Sam yet again opted for a hot chocolate while I – you guessed it – marveled at some amazing-looking pastries.
With ample seating and a comfortable environment, The Daily Grind would be a great place to meet friends or hang out and get a little work done on a laptop. If you’re in a hurry, however, never fear – it has a drive thru window, too, which makes it unique among the coffee shops on this list.
4.
KT’s Coffee Talk
218 North Main Street, Hubbard

We hopped on Interstate 80 to get to our last coffee shop of the day. KT’s Coffee Talk in downtown Hubbard is one of Trumbull County’s newer coffee shops. It’s a small walk-in shop with just a few seats, but its cute, welcoming atmosphere makes you want to stick around.
KT’s has a full coffee and tea menu as well as iced teas and fizzy fruit drinks. I grabbed another sweet chai latte, but definitely want to head back to try a fizzy. Plus, Sam and I enjoyed driving through downtown Hubbard and seeing all the shops and restaurants. KT’s would be a great spot to stop before taking a stroll downtown.
Day Two
5.
Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop
888 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, Vienna Center

Going it alone on Day Two, I headed over to Vienna to check out a very new coffee shop with a great name: Twisted Peacock. I couldn’t miss the bright blue building.
The coffee shop charmed with a colorful, fun aesthetic and plenty of peacocks on the walls, rugs, and counter. There was also a glimmer of a 1950s diner in the seating area.
Friendly baristas made me a lovely white hot chocolate mocha that nicely balanced sweetness and coffee flavor. While they worked, I checked out the little shop filled with jewelry, scarves, and clothes. And, I seriously considered buying a gourmet marshmallow for the road, but knew I had plenty more sweets and treats ahead of me.
6.
Market House Caffe
8480 East Market Street, Howland

Next, I headed due west on Warren-Sharon Road to Market House Caffe, where I inadvertently crashed a friend’s coffee date (sorry, Nick).
This popular coffee spot is actually in a house. It’s cozy and has rustic vibes and lots of natural light. There are also lots of places to sit and talk for hours – or you can pop upstairs and shop for decorations, home goods and gifts Market House’s extensive collection.
I grabbed a sweet, subtle chai latte. Market House also has pastries including biscotti and macarons, and a food menu with light eats like strata and overnight oats. They also offer a toast bar and a “jar bar” of yogurt.
7.
Wired Rooster Coffee Shop
8024 East Market Street, Howland

Wired Rooster Coffee Shop is tucked inside Urban Tap & Distillery on East Market Street, so you can grab a handcrafted drink in the same space where people come for burgers, brunch, and live-by-the-locals hospitality.
Wired Rooster’s menu covers all the favorites: hot and iced coffee drinks, teas, frappes, and more…plus breakfast-style bites and baked goods that make it easy to turn “just a coffee stop” into a real pause in your day. I settled in with a latte and watched downtown wake up around me, and it felt very much like what Urban Tap does best: welcoming, relaxed, and community-centered.
It’s an especially great stop if you’re exploring Warren for the day or meeting friends. Coffee lovers can grab their drinks from Wired Rooster while everyone else orders lunch or a snack from Urban Tap. One stop, plenty of options, and a very “Truly Trumbull” way to do coffee in the city.
8.
The Mocha House
467 High Street NE, Warren

Last but never least is the Mocha House. Often included on the list of Warren’s favorite restaurants, Mocha House has an extensive food menu but is most renowned for its huge selection of cakes and pastries. So, of course, I got a snowflake sugar cookie for the road.
Situated just a few blocks away from Nova, The Mocha House is another cozy, comfortable spot – but you better bet that it gets loud during the busy lunch rush.
Like the desert options, the drink menu has you covered with coffee, tea, espresso, mocha, chocolate, and frozen options – and they’re all delicious.
9.
Broken Leaf Cafe
38 W Broad St, Newton Falls

Both woman-owned and locally-owned, shopping at Broken Leaf Cafe is a no brainer for that feel-good experience. Their drinks are tasty, their snacks are filling, and the people are all happy to welcome you in.
Plus, Broke Leaf Cafe has a secret…pizza! Recently, the cafe was entrusted with the secret pizza recipe of Albert Talanca, a local legend dating back to Albert’s Bakery in 1959. The slices are only available on Fridays while supplies last (and they DO sell out) so plan accordingly.
So, there you have it: ten coffee shops to try and love in Trumbull County.
But there are even more great places to have coffee or tea in Trumbull County, like Delightful Maple Café in Southington and Coffee Cup Café – also known as O’Callaghan’s – in Warren.
Since I didn’t get to all of them, you’ll have to try them yourself!
