End of the Commons General Store
The oldest general store in Ohio serves up delicious homemade fry pies along with a gift shop, bulk food and collectibles.
This unique family-owned old-time general store is located in the heart of Amish Country and serves the local Amish community as well as provides visitors a glimpse into the past. One of the oldest general stores in Ohio, it has been in continuous operation since 1840.
The historic site set in the heart of Trumbull County's Amish Country features grocery items, bulk foods, a gift shop with Amish collectibles, and the Commons Cafe, an on-site eatery located inside the store. Just steps away from the store entrance is a 15’ woodcarving featuring a frontiersman reminiscent of early settlers living in the area that was carved from a 350-year-old oak tree stump.
And across from the store and adjacent to the Commons sits the world’s largest Amish horse and buggy which stands 14” high and 32’ long. Before leaving enjoy a hand-dipped ice cream cone and take home a made-from-scratch Amish fry pie and other candies!
