Step into the nocturnal world of moths and experience nature like never before! Join our park
naturalist and volunteer Amanda Sloan for an evening of “mothing”—a unique and fascinating way
to observe moths and other nighttime insects up close using light and sugar bait stations.
You’ll learn how to safely attract moths, identify common species, and understand the important
roles these nighttime pollinators play in our ecosystems. From tiny geometers to large, showy silk
moths, you never know what beautiful or bizarre creatures you’ll spot! What to Bring: Flashlight or
headlamp (with red light if possible), bug spray, and your curiosity.
